Persistent Session with History Limit

This example demonstrates how to use session history with a configurable number of previous runs added to context, allowing control over how much conversation history is included.

Usage

1. Create a virtual environment

   Open the Terminal and create a python virtual environment.

   Mac

   python3 -m venv .venv
   source .venv/bin/activate
   
2. Install libraries

   pip install -U agno openai psycopg2-binary
   
3. Setup PostgreSQL

   # Make sure PostgreSQL is running
   # Update connection string in the code as needed
   
4. Export your OpenAI API key

   Mac/Linux

     export OPENAI_API_KEY="your_openai_api_key_here"
   
5. Create a Python file

   Create a Python file and add the above code.

   touch 02_persistent_session_history.py
   
6. Run Agent

   Mac

   python 02_persistent_session_history.py
